NAME: Olivia Dunham (alternate)
CANON: Fringe
AGE: 32
CANON POINT: 4x17 (mid-episode as she's shooting the assassin)
HISTORY: Fringe Wikia
PERSONALITY: The most easily noticeable thing about Altlivia is her confidence. Whether she's serious or joking, she walks with the swagger of someone who is comfortable and confident in everything they do. She knows herself, knows her limits, knows her position, and acts with thought but without hesitation. This comes out most easily in her role as a Fringe Agent as she works with her team to protect her world, but it also carries over to her personal life. She always has a quip or cute remark for whatever comes her way and isn't afraid to show her feelings. There aren't any awkward pauses or hesitations when dealing with people, just smooth confidence. The key to all of this is how open she is, especially in stark contrast to her counterpart. At least part of this confidence comes from the fact that she's a certified badass. She has an Olympic medal in marksmanship and can hit whatever she shoots at, nearly without fail. Not only that, but she's physically fit and good when it comes to a fist fight.
For a multitude of reasons (mainly due to a lack of abusive stepfather, a living mother, and not being a child drug experiment) she's so much happier than Olivia. Altlivia is quick to smile and is expressive about it, going through facial expressions a mile a minute. She'll give a smile, flick a glance at Lincoln, bite her lip as her smile grows, look away from Lincoln, make a brief attempt to not smile quite so much, and then give up and grin anyway, and all in a second or two. Everything she expresses is done in degrees and nuances, from the way she fidgets to how steady her gaze is. Those that know her well can read her like a book, making it easy for her to interact with Lincoln and Charlie because they are pros at reading her. She loves to joke and is a queen of sass, prodding people's faults with a humorous verbal jab and flash of a grin. Her existence is usually light and humorous, doing her best to bring out a smile in those around her because she likes being surrounded by grins matching her own. This state of perpetual motion also comes out in the way she moves, using lots of hand gestures and fidgeting. This translates to her concept of personal space (or rather, the lack thereof) and how she's constantly standing right next to people or walking up behind them and bumping their shoulder as a greeting. She's a tactile person and likes to show how close she feels with her friends by being close to them and giving casual touches.
At times her smile can be a cover for how she really feels. At that point she's smiling because she knows that's her normal expression. It's rare that this happens since she's a very open person, and usually it's because she's working through something on her own. It doesn't mean that something is desperately wrong with her, because she generally doesn't hide her emotions that well, but just that Altlivia needs a bit of time to process. She'll get through whatever she's working through, and a bit of patience and quiet support is all that she needs.
This is not to say that her entire life is like this, and she knows when it's time to drop the humor and get down to business. Altlivia is a professional and when she needs to be serious she drops that smile like it's hot (and it is very hot). Work is work, and she is responsible for taking care of both the people on her team and the people of her country. This responsibility is not something she accepts lightly and she gives it the respect it deserves. Even though she'll gladly grin and joke her way around the office, the van to a possible Vortex zone, and an Amber device, she can effortlessly switch to "I take no crap" mode. In this mode she very clearly means business, and so help anyone who gets in her way because she doesn't hesitate to run someone down or pull the trigger.
Her dedication to work runs deep, as well. In a spectacular show of how well she can buckle down when the time comes, she impersonates her counterpart for weeks. During this time she shuts down her natural openness and lightness and dons the reserved and closed off face of Olivia, and does a good enough job to fool everyone for a while. This period shows an almost ruthless facet to her, where her usually lighthearted quips become sarcastic and biting, a reflection of how she dislikes what she's having to do. She knows that she's ruining lives by using the budding relationship between Olivia and Peter to worm her way into safety in this world, but she does it anyway. And when her ability to keep up the act and do her job is questioned she puts extra effort in and doesn't hesitate to kill the allies that are slowing her down. It's not something she enjoys doing, but it's work and she will do it to save those important to her.
But saving those important to her is where she draws the line, and she doesn't like crossing that line. When Walternate decides to activate the Machine, she tries to stop him and reason with him in order to protect Our Side. She knows that Our Side isn't actively fighting against the Other Side, and as such she wants to protect the people she unwillingly became close to. This dedication to her friends and loved ones is what drives the core of her actions, and she's more likely to pick the option with the maximal benefit to those she loves than the logical one.
Despite being such a confident and sure person, Olivia will crumble if her support is taken away from her. She'll become lost and curl up in a corner when everyone leaves her, though she won't hide her feelings if a friend talks to her about them. There's a slightly desperate quality to her when she's like this, and she'll try her best to work back toward being upbeat, though she's likely to stumble along the way. When Frank (ex-fiance) leaves her and when Lincoln dies she falls apart by herself, even trying drinking despite her dislike of alcohol.
On the flip side of this, she's an eternal fountain of support for her friends when they need her. Sure she jokes and pokes their sore spots, but only when it's all in fun. She's very careful to toe that line and not cross it, and when it's not the time she's considerate and caring. There's little limit to the support she'll give her friends, whether it's listening to them at 3AM or offering hugs and advice. In the same vein, this caring core ultimately shines through any ruthlessness she can display. Altlivia isn't prone to hatred so forgiveness comes easily, though not necessarily quickly. She has no problem changing her mind about things, so her intrinsic kindness eventually begins to shift her opinions of all but her most hated enemies toward a positive note.
CRAU: none
SPECIES: human
APPEARANCE: link
SKILLS: Altlivia has a number of abilities, though at the end of the day she's just a human without any sort of modification.
NEW POWER: Personal clone. Olivia can create an illusion clone of herself. The clone looks real and identical to Olivia's current physical form (clothes, injuries, etc), however it can't physically interact with anything, meaning it can walk through walls but cannot open a door, and it can talk. Olivia isn't aware of her own body while the clone is active as she controls the clone. The clone can go a maximum of 10 meters away from Olivia, and the connection feels like a rubber band being stretched, so the clone is harder to control at maximum range and will simply vanish if it goes beyond that range.
POWER REASONING: A core of Fringe is the concept of having two versions of a person, and in particular (alt)Olivia (this character) spends a while pretending to be Olivia ("our" Olivia). As this power grows the clone could gain additional properties such as altered appearance or being tangible, so it has opportunity to grow in various ways.

SKILLS: Altlivia has a number of abilities, though at the end of the day she's just a human without any sort of modification.
- Olympic Marksman: Altlivia has a gold medal in Olympic marksmanship. If there's an impossible shot to make, she'll make it (in the rain, to boot). She's fantastic with any gun, but put a scoped gun (especially a rifle) in her hands and she's a monster.
- Keeps Her Cool: It's remarked that she's the strong one, never crying and never barfing. Even under the pressure of someone shooting at her she keeps things under control and instead of hiding, waits for a good moment to take her shot. Pressure makes her work better, not worse.
- Hand to Hand: As a member of Fringe Division and possibly other military organizations before that, she's in good shape and is pretty decent at hand to hand combat. Altlivia is hardly a master, but against another person with sort of average knowledge and experience, she can hold her own.
- Fringe Agent: Her work with Fringe Division has given her the skill set necessary to start and follow an investigation and work with a team. She's a good team player and is happy to let people do the organizing and give her a task to carry out and complete, but she can also step up and be in charge if she needs.
